their own. In Victorian England the language of flowers blossomed into an unwritten communication of
courtship. With properly selected flowers, a bouquet conveyed a lover's deepest thoughts and desires.
The rose played a leading role in this courtship, conveying the message of love. The language of the rose
survives today and continues to play a significant role in courtship.
